Ministry of Energy, UAE, announces support to the Integrated Water Management Summit

In an effort to address the water crisis and challenges faced by the Middle East region, the Ministry of Energy, UAE, has joined forces with UMS Conferences for the Integrated Water Management Summit. The event will be inaugurated by HE Fatima Al-Foora Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity Clean Energy and Desalination of Water, UAE Ministry of Energy. Scheduled for the 28 – 29 November, 2016, in Dubai, the summit will bring together the region’s water authorities and engineering experts under one platform.

Presenting the inaugural address at the summit, HE Fatima Al-Foora Al Shamsi will speak about the UAE Ministry of Energy’s plans to establish sustainable water security.

The forum aims to bring together professionals, engineers and policy makers in the water and wastewater industry to share knowledge and ideas. Covering the complete spectrum, from water generation to wastewater treatment, it will deliver up-to-date information on technology, products and trends.

The summit will also see the participation of Aaesha Saeed Ali Zaidi Al Shehhi, Director Water Production, Gen & Prod - Water Production, Federal Electricity and Water Authority, UAE and Dr. Majed Subhi Abusharkh, Water Networks/Pipelines Advisor, Directorate General of Projects, Public Authority for Electricity & Water, Government of Oman.

Discussing the status of projects in the current economic situation, the event will convene ministries and authorities to debate on current water projects and water regulations that will affect the infrastructural plans relating to sustainable urban water development in the region. 

With the objective of achieving water sustainability, the event will look at solutions to challenges at operations and maintenance of water services. It will also cover existing and emerging technologies in smart water grid management, maintenance of water services, waste water reuse methods and water asset management. Ministry regulations, water management strategies and challenges as well as industrial water treatment will also be covered in this two-day event.
